A spring afternoon at the Arboretum
Spring finally showed up in Boston, and we took full advantage. The Arboretum was all green and just starting to bloom, those in-between weeks when everything feels fresh but not crowded yet. Beth and Matt wanted something low-key, nothing staged, so that’s exactly how we did it.
We started wandering the main path, talking about random stuff, wedding plans, favorite takeout spots. Every now and then we’d stop when the light hit right or when something caught our eyes.
The photos everyone loves are always the unplanned ones. Like Matt helping Beth swap her shoes after the outfit change, or the way they laughed when a dog ran straight through our shot and almost stole the show. Stuff you can’t script. That’s why I love sessions like this, they feel like hanging out with friends who just happen to be getting some killer photos at the same time.
Two outfits, one vibe
About halfway through, Beth switched outfits. It wasn’t a big production, she just ducked into the visitor center and came back in something a little dressier. And honestly, it changed the feel in the best way. We found this spot under the trees where the light filtered through, and it felt like we were in a different park entirely.
Thinking about your own arboretum session?
The Arnold Arboretum is perfect for couples who want quiet and natural moments where they can just focus on each other without the distractions of a busy space. Let’s plan a shoot that feels like a date you’ll actually enjoy.
