A Quiet, Foggy Fall Session at Walden Pond
One of the best parts of being a wedding photographer is getting to meet incredible couples like Lisa and Alex. From the very start, they were warm, funny, and totally themselves—which made photographing them a breeze. We chose Walden Pond in Concord, Massachusetts for their engagement session, and it ended up being the perfect backdrop for their easygoing vibe.
It was one of those crisp fall days when the world feels just a little softer. A layer of fog hung low over the pond, and everything felt calm and cinematic. There were fewer people around than usual, so we basically had the place to ourselves, just the sound of leaves underfoot and the occasional bird overhead.

The Magic of Fog and Changing Leaves
The fog added such a dreamy, moody feel to the photos, especially as we walked along the edge of the pond. The trees were just starting to turn, giving us that perfect mix of green, gold, and rust-colored leaves. Lisa and Alex were totally down to wander and take their time, which gave the session this lovely, unhurried energy.
Personal Touches: Science-Inspired Details
Towards the end of the session, it started to drizzle—and that’s when Alex pulled out the umbrella with a full solar system printed on the inside. Not only did it look amazing in photos, but it also had meaning. Alex works at the Museum of Science, so this was a sweet and subtle way for them to bring their shared love of science into the session. (Spoiler: you’ll spot even more science-inspired touches at their wedding!)
Why Walden Pond Is Perfect for Intimate Engagement Photos
There’s something really special about Walden Pond for engagement photos. It’s peaceful, scenic, and feels a little removed from the everyday chaos. For couples who want a natural setting with some quiet, woodsy magic, it’s hard to beat.
