One of the best parts about photographing a wedding at Shining Tides is how much variety you get in just one venue. It’s a photographer’s dream. There’s a quiet little forest trail, wide open grassy areas, a boardwalk, the beach (of course), and the waterfront lawn where the light hits just right during golden hour. It’s kind of a choose-your-own-adventure for portraits, and I love that.
Kate and Aaron’s wedding had that perfect mix of emotional and fun, elegant and laid-back. We kicked off the day with Kate and her bridesmaids getting ready at a rental house just down the road. With a full crew of bridesmaids and seven flower girls (yes, seven!), having that extra space totally made sense. The guys got ready at a nearby hotel, which kept the whole morning stress-free and smooth.
Kate and Aaron are just so easy to be around—warm, upbeat, and always laughing. I knew from their East Boston engagement session that their wedding was going to be something special. And it didn’t disappoint.

Kate’s cathedral-length veil was pure magic. It caught the wind in all the best ways and made for some stunning portraits.

The groom and groomsmen showed off their matching socks.

The Ketubah signing was short and heartfelt. The blue artwork on the Ketubah tied in beautifully with the overall wedding aesthetic.

Kate and Aaron are huge baseball fans. Instead of a guest sign-in book, they had guests sign on baseballs.

Thank you, Kate and Aaron, for having me document such a special day of your lives. You have been amazingly kind to me and each other and it was such a treat hearing some of the stories from your hilarious toast givers 🙂
What was the most memorable moment of your wedding celebration?
The most memorable moment for us was during the ceremony when we were able to look around and take everything in. It was when we realized that the day had finally arrived, and we were finally getting married!
Kate’s favorite moment was also dancing to SHOUT!
Funniest memory of the night?
Kate: The funniest memories were during the speeches. Everyone had really wonderful, hilarious things to say about me and Aaron and our love for each other.
Aaron: Almost getting our heads chopped off by the beams during the hora
Any advice for future brides and grooms?
Do what makes YOU happy-and this should include hiring Sam as your photographer 🙂
What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?
Growing old and wrinkly together and knowing that no matter the challenges we are going to face in life, we are never facing them alone.
