Donec efficitur, ligula ut lacinia

If you’re thinking about having a Nashoba Valley Winery wedding, I totally get the appeal. It’s one of the Massachusetts wedding venues that feels like a hidden gem with gorgeous views, apple orchards, cozy indoor spaces, and an outdoor wedding ceremony spot that actually works even when it rains (more on that in a sec). It’s the kind of place where couples can really just be themselves, which is exactly what Rebecca and Chris did on their wedding day.
I met Chris a couple years back at Beth and Matt’s wedding at the Lyman Estate. He was the best man. So when he and Rebecca reached out, I was excited. It’s always fun seeing familiar faces again, and they were just really easy to work with.
We did their engagement session at the Arnold Arboretum. It was chill, we got great photos, and it helped us get to know each other a little before the wedding. I always tell people engagement sessions aren’t just about the photos. It makes a big difference on the wedding day when you already know what to expect and can just relax.

Getting Ready at the Winery
The day started at Nashoba Winery. Rebecca got ready in the bridal suite with her bridesmaids. It was calm. Some music, a few laughs, everyone just hanging out and getting excited. Chris and his best man, Matt, showed up already dressed and ready to go. Super laid-back. No rushing around.

Outdoor Ceremony with Some Surprise Rain
The ceremony was out at the gazebo. That space is great—quiet, surrounded by trees, lots of room for guests. We were all watching the sky a bit because it looked like rain, and sure enough, right when things started, it began to drizzle.
Luckily the gazebo saved the day. We moved Rebecca and Chris back a couple feet and they stayed dry. Honestly, it was kind of sweet. The rain stopped right after the ceremony, so it all worked out. Gotta love New England weather.
If you’re planning an outdoor ceremony in Massachusetts, definitely have a rain plan. Even something as simple as a covered spot like this makes a huge difference.

Portraits in the Apple Orchard
After the ceremony, the rain cleared and we headed out into the orchard for portraits. Nashoba has this beautiful apple farm on site and we made full use of it. The light was soft after the rain and the rows of trees made for some nice backdrops. We kept it simple, nothing too posed. Just the couple being themselves.
One thing I really liked—Rebecca wore a mid-length veil. It had some movement for photos but wasn’t dragging behind her. It just made everything easier, especially with the wet grass. If you’re not 100% into the long veil look, mid-length is a solid option.

The Reception
The reception felt warm and easy. Good food, people catching up, and a lot of happy tears during toasts. I always love seeing how different families and friend groups show up to celebrate. Some are wild on the dance floor, some are more mellow. This was a nice mix.
They wrapped it up with a final dance, just the two of them. One of those moments that doesn’t feel like much at first, but it sticks with you. Quiet, simple, full of meaning.

Rebecca and Chris had the kind of wedding that just felt real. It wasn’t about being fancy or following a checklist. It was about them, their people, and having a good time.
If you’re thinking about getting married at Nashoba Valley Winery, I’d say go for it. The venue has everything you need—outdoor ceremony space, apple orchard, indoor reception, great views. Even with some rain, the day still came together beautifully.
And if you’re looking for a Massachusetts wedding photographer who’s easygoing and focused on the real stuff, reach out. I’d love to hear what you’re planning.
