Why We Specialize in LGBTQ+ Wedding Photography

We specialize in LGBTQ+ wedding photography because we know how important it is to feel fully seen and celebrated on your wedding day. For most weddings, I work with my photography partner, who is also a part of the queer community, and we bring our shared perspectives and empathy to every wedding we photograph.

We understand the unique joys and sometimes the specific considerations that come with planning a queer wedding. Having photographed dozens of gay weddings, from intimate LGBT proposals and city hall ceremonies to full-day wedding celebrations, that experience helps us read the room and get a sense of when to step in and when to let a moment unfold. Working with us means getting two photographers who care deeply about your story and making sure your love is documented exactly as it should be.

Our Approach to Photographing Gay Weddings

Photographing LGBTQ+ weddings is personal to us. It’s about more than documenting a day, it’s about celebrating love that’s authentic, emotional, and nontraditional. Every couple has a rhythm, a way of showing affection that’s uniquely theirs, and our job is to honor that. From the beginning, we take time to understand your dynamic so your photos feel natural, not staged or forced into something that doesn’t reflect who you are.

When it comes to posing, we move away from traditional gender roles and heteronormative frameworks. Instead of placing one partner in a traditionally dominant role, we focus on balance and connection – how you move together, how you show warmth, how your personalities complement one another. We’ll gently guide you when needed, but we’re always watching for the honest in-between moments where your connection shines. Our goal is to create images that reflect the chemistry that’s true to your relationship.

Frequently Asked Questions by Queer Couples

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Suspendisse varius enim in eros elementum tristique.

Do you only photograph gay weddings?
We celebrate all love stories! But being part of the community means we bring specific insight many queer couples appreciate. My partner and I work as a photography team capturing LGBTQ+ couples in authentic, joyful, and storytelling images. Whether it’s a City Hall elopement or a full wedding celebration, we’re excited to document your day!
Do you offer engagement or pre-wedding sessions?
Absolutely! Engagement sessions are a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera and get to know each other. We can also recommend locations around Boston that fit your style.
What are the best places for LGBTQ engagement photos and wedding portraits in Boston?
Boston is an incredibly welcoming city with so many beautiful backdrops for queer couples. Some of my favorites include the romantic paths and seasonal blooms of the Boston Public Garden, the open water and skyline views at the Charles River Esplanade, the sleek urban-meets-water vibe of the Seaport District, the cobblestones and historic charm of Beacon Hill, the golden-hour magic along Harborwalk and Fan Pier, the textured greenery of the Arnold Arboretum, and the relaxed, coastal feel of Carson Beach. Whatever location you choose, my goal is to make sure you feel seen, comfortable, and celebrated throughout the entire session.
How do you help couples who are nervous in front of the camera?
We guide couples gently and keep the session playful and relaxed. By focusing on your connection and letting real moments happen naturally, we turn nerves into smiles and laughter, so your photos feel genuine and full of joy.
When should we book and how to secure our wedding date?
Peak dates (May-Oct weekends) book 12-18 months ahead. Off-season: 6-11 months. Reach out via the contact form below to check availability and I’ll guide you through the process.
